Define Business Success for the Employee's Sake

Often times you don’t think about how employees can be champions of your business when it comes to marketing. In my experience executives and business owners don’t help themselves by setting goals for their companies, define the future, and define what their success will be. Much of the time, when these are not met by the owner or business executive, the employees don’t have a clue what they are doing. Many of the employees waste valuable money sitting around doing nothing, because they don’t have a clear and concise picture of where the business is going.

Random Marketing Thoughts: Changing Branding or Identity?

How much effort does it take a company to change their branding once they are already known to a wide audience? There has to be a concise and economical evaluation before a company considers to take a huge step like changing their branding or identity. Branding is a very important part of business and can reflect the personality of the firm it represents. The branding speaks to the audience that it presents itself to. Things affecting the consumer with new color schemes might be culture, personal experiences related to the colors, environmental means of the colors, and other issues of such.

Random Marketing Thoughts: What's in a logo?

This evening I was traveling home later than normal, basically in the dark, and was noticing all of the different company logos that were lit up on each side of the road. It’s kind of a wondrous and sometimes overwhelming site to see these lights when you think about it. How do these companies choose the name and logos they present to the consumer? What makes them choose the colors? The imagery? The wording?

It is a very important part of business to create a lasting image to the consumers and without these things, a business would not have personality to last in the marketplace. It is fascinating how one image can create a distinction in the consumers minds that can either be good or bad, maybe even make or break the business. Thinking back over the years how many businesses have come and gone. Many of those businesses I can still picture their logo, colors, and imagery in my head. These things are the life blood of the companies they represent and businesses should proceed in creating these with caution to the targeted customers.
